Reckless Driving Lands Man In Court

A 32-year-old driver, Bello Friday of opposite Liberty Church, Gbako 11, Gwagwalada, Abuja was arraigned last Tuesday, before an Abuja Senior Magistrates’ Court for alleged reckless and inconsiderate driving.

The police prosecutor, Sgt. Ahmed Mohammed, told the court that the case was reported at Maitama Police Station, on February, 24.

Mohammed said that the accused drove a Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration No. CU 608 SHR along IBB Boulevard, Maitama, in a reckless and inconsiderate manner.

He said that the accused, thereby, hit a KIA Optima car with registration No. YAB 565 AE, belonging to Mrs Valerie Abassah and lost control of her car and hit a Mazda 323 driven by Mr Ademiju Oluwaseyi.

Mohammed said the Madza car was damaged as a result of the accident.

He said the offence contravened Sections 28 (1) and 29 (1) of the Road Traffic Act.

However, Friday, the accused, pleaded not guilty and Senior Magistrate Rosemary Kanjip granted him bail in the sum of N10, 000 and one reasonable surety.

The case was adjourned to March 29 for hearing.
