NTF Needs To Do More To Attract Sponsors – Ositelu

A veteran sports analyst, Ayo Ositelu, has said that the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) will have to embark on a massive sponsorship drive to attract partners for its programmes.

Ositelu told newsmen  in Lagos that more work needed to be done by the NTF in order to have great tournaments such as the Lord Rumens Classics of old.

He berated the officials of the federation for the near state of inactivity in the country’s tennis circuit.

“The only viable tennis competition we have had in recent times was the 2011 Lagos Governor’s Cup Tournament.

“There is a need for tennis courts to be made available everywhere for easy access to the people, regardless of their age, gender and social status,’’ he said.

Ositelu added that tennis should be encouraged in schools for pupils to imbibe the rudiments of the sport at an early stage.
