NDDC Boss Urges People-Oriented Projects
The Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission ( NDDC), Dr. Christian Oboh has advocated the initiation of projects in line with people’s desire, just as he sued for closer ties among development agencies to avoid project duplication
Dr Oboh made the call during a courtesy call on him by the management committee of the Partners for Sustainable Development (PSD) led by its Chairman, Dr. Tam George.
The NDDC boss who frowned at seeming inactivity on the part of the partners explained that “There are certain items in our NDDC Budget that also appears in states Government budgets, we need to harmonise, to avoid duplication”.
”We are looking forward to when we can see the states through your representation, but to achieve that you must strive to engage your state Governments and the people you represent”. The NDDC Chief Executive Officer added.
He challenged the management committee to evolve ways of rotating the hosting of the forum among member states, organisations and pledged the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with PSD
Earlier, chairman of the committee, Dr. Tam George congratulated the Managing Director on his appointment, promising that the forum would work in synergy with the Commission towards developing the Niger Delta.
