Lawyer Charts Path To Community Development

The people of Uturu in Abia State have been called upon to renew their effort in building a strong and egalitarian community in line with modern development trends.

Making this call in Port Harcourt during a get-together party organised by Uturu Development Union, the guest speaker, Barr Veronica Efika stated that human resource development is an important aspect of development that must be fully embrace to move the community forward. She said there was need for Uturu people to rise above the primordial pattern of economic survival arising from their satisfaction from subsistence farming which is now out place with modern economic realities.

Speaking on the topic, Uturu and Nation building, the guest speaker, explained that Uturu was yet to fully explore it inherent human and natural resources for the development of the area. She commended the Port Harcourt branch for awarding scholarship to indigent members and other form of assistance to the people.

Earlier in his welcome address, Port Harcourt branch chairman of the body, Comrade Aloy Okezie said the Union was committed to ensuring  peaceful co-existence and harmony required in the community.

Comrade Okezie who is the National president of the body, also assured the body of transparent leadership.
