Late Preparation, Poor Funding Worry Bayelsa Queens
Chief Coach of Bayelsa Queens Football Club, Moses Aduku, has attributed the team’s 3-1 loss to Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt in the 2012 National Women League opener to late preparations.
Aduku made the statement shortly after the opening match played between the duo at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.
According to him, it was the team’s first match of the season and late preparation was their bane. He promised to correct the situation as the season progresses.
“Losing the first match does not mean we are out of the championship, the problem with the club is finance and I hope that with coming of this new government in our state, we will get it right,” he said.
Aduku maintained that his team would fight for the title despite losing their first match in the league.
Meanwhile, the match saw Ngozi Ebeke open scoring for the Port Harcourt-based side while Amoeze Aigheni got a brace, all in the first half of the encounter watched by an impressive crowd.
Bayelsa Queens got their consolation goal in added time via Equatorial Guinea International, Ngozi Dialla.
Bayelsa, would next play host to Garden City FC of Abeokuta this weekend.
