IRS To Expand Flight Operations
The chairman of IRS, Alhaji Rabiu Isiaku says the airline has concluded plans to operate more destinations within the country.
Alhaji Isiaku who was speaking at the 10th anniversary of the airline expressed the commitment of the airline to expand its operations domestically and regionally in the next two years.
He said it was not easy to weather the storm in the past years, adding that “we thank God to have survived this long because anybody that can survive this long in this industry has actually done well”.
“We appreciate our passengers for their loyalty, for always being there. We tried as much as possible to give them the best quality service. Sometimes, it’s not possible due to circumstance beyond our control, but most times we do get responses that are very positive”, he said.
According to him, “our watch word is safety, security and satisfaction for our customers and that we will continue to do that by the grace of God”.
He explained that the airline was incorporated in 2001 but commenced flight operations in March 2002, stressing that “since we went into operations, we’ve not had any major or significant incident ever that led to injuries or loss of lives”.
“We’ll continue to pray to maintain the status quo and also for our other colleagues in the industry to maintain same accident free trend”, he added.
He stressed the importance of the aviation industry to the economic growth of any nation, saying without aviation, obviously you can imagine the cost for people to move from one place to another and be able to transact their businesses”.
Alhaji Isiaku commended the federal government for its commitment to the development of the aviation industry.
