Football Manager Queries Garba’s U-17 List
A football manager in Rivers State, Stanley Wariso, has faulted the 50-man under-17 list recently released by the Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba.
Wariso, who is the Director of the Real Club Deportivo (RCD) Espenyol Academy in Rivers State said that it was regrettable that out of the 50 players invited for Camping there was no Rivers born player among them.
According to him, the state has skill full and young lads who are ready to showcase their God-given talent to the world, saying that, this lack of opportunity might destroy the hope of these talented players.
Wariso maintained that the invitation of players to represent the country should not be limited to a particular part of the country but should be done randomly on the interest of fairness and justice.
“As far as I know there are good and young players with potentiats, who can do the state and country proud, and they should at least be given the chance to prove themselves,” he said.
Earlier, he had called on the managements of the two state owned clubs Dolphins and Sharks FCs, to reposition the teams by replacing the old and tired legs with fresh legs in order to beef up the teams, and get the desired results in the 2011/2012 league season and other engagements of the season.
