Flamingoes Banks On Abeokuta To Beat Zambia
Coach of the U-17 national female team, the Flamingoes, Peter Dedevbo, has assured Nigerians of victory in the second leg final round match of the World Cup qualifier against Zambia tomorrow.
“I am here in Abeokuta to win and pick up my second consecutive World Cup ticket.
“Abeokuta has been my lucky ground and the hospitality of the government and the people of Ogun is very supportive,” said Dedevbo.
The Flamingoes arrived in Abeokuta early this week for the all important encounter against the Zambians.
The 34-member contingent, led by Dedevbo, were received by the officials of the Ogun FA and the Ministry of Youths and Sport at the MKO Abiola International Stafium, Abeokuta.
The Flamingoes recorded a 2-1 win in the first leg in the Luska Independence Stadium penultimate weekend.
The Chairman, Ogun FA. Alhaji Ganiya Majekodunmi, said all hands were on deck to ensure a good outing for the girls tomorrow.
The Zambian delegation arrived Abeokuta yesterday.
The winner will take one of Africa’s slots for the FIFA Women World Cup billed for Azerbajan in September.
