Fans Want Wikki To Improve On Goal-Scoring
Wikki FC management has been called upon to urge the technical adviser of the club, Ladan Bosso, to improve the striking force of the club in order to score goals.
Some fans who spoke to newsmen shortly after a lone goal win against visiting Akwa United of Uyo in Bauchi in the league last week.
They claimed that the home side was getting unimpressive with their inability to convert the many goal scoring chances that came their way during games. “The situation is getting really bad’’.
They also noted that it was sad that the highest number of goals scored by the team so far in the ongoing league season was two, stressing that it was not because they did not goal scoring chances but that the strikers lack of the coordination.
Moses Audu, who watched last Wednesday’s match, said he was disappointed at the overall performance of the team, because they missed about five chances.
“I am a little disappointed in today’s (Wednesday) match because as you have seen, one of the players, Alabi missed at least five chances of scoring during the match.
“The defence has done its best and was passing the ball to the front but unfortunately the finishing was bad, I just pray this will not continue in future matches,” he said.
Kabiru Ali, an ardent supporter of the club, said he was surprised that the affected player was not substituted.
He commended the persistence that Wikki had shown in trying to win the match even though it was a low scoreline, 1-0.
The winning goal was scored in the 19th minute by Mustafa Ibrahim.
The turnout of spectators at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, the venue of the match, was impressive.
