FAAN Provides 500 Trolleys To Ease Luggage Movement
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says 500 trolleys have been added to the existing ones at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, to facilitate movement of luggage by passengers.
The trolleys were acquired by Skyblue services, the company responsible for trolleys and luggage handling services at the airport.
Speaking while presenting the trolleys for public use, the Managing Director of FAAN, Mr. George Uriesi called for more partnership from stakeholders in the aviation sector.
Mr. Uriesi who was represented by the Regional Manager, South-West, Mr. Edward Olalerim said that the provision of the trolleys was timely as the airport was in dire need of such facility.
He urged passengers to handle the trolleys with care so as to protect their life-span, adding that the availability of the trolleys would ease movement of luggage within the airport.
In his speech, the General Manager of Skyblue Services, Mr. Tosin Shopetan explained that the provision of the 500 trolleys was the first in the series of investments designed to upgrade its airport trolley management system.
He said it was also in line with the requirement and efforts of the government to expand the international airport and improve the travelling experience of passengers.
He explained that Skyblue Services had made an initial investment of N45 million in trolleys and trolley management system while N85 million had also been set aside for additional 1,000 trolleys which would be automated soon for easy monitoring system.
