Enugu Govt To Fence FRCN Station …Provides 500 KVA Generator

ment has promised to assist in providing security fencing at the transmitting station of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Enugu National Station located at Hill Top Ngwo.

The State Governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime who made the promise when he received the outgoing Zonal Director of the Station, Mrs. Emah Ekpo at the Government House, Enugu also promised that government would consider providing 500 KVA electric power generating plant to the station to improve on its services to the people.

Governor Chime noted with satisfaction the excellent cordial working relationship between his government and management of FRCN in Enugu and praised the outgoing Zonal Director, Mrs. Ekpo for her hard work, commitment and contribution to the growth and development of the broadcast media industry in Nigeria and in Enugu State in particular.

The State Chief Exceutive observed with delight that under Mrs Ekpo’s leadership, FRCN Enugu through her nice programmes contributed so much to the success story of his administration in the state.

He, therefore, expressed the hope that her successor, Mr. Chuka Okoye would continue from where she stopped and go further to improve on the existing relationship between the corporation and the state government, especially in the areas of information dissemination, education/public enlightenment to the general public.

The Governor prayed God to continue to give her good health and also wished her more successes in her future endeavours in life.

Earlier in an address, Mrs Ekpo had told the governor that she was in the Government House Enugu on a farewell visit, to inform him of the commencement of her retirement leave and to introduce her successor, Mr. Chuka Okoye, to him.

Mrs.Ekpo expressed joy that her tenure in Radio Nigeria Enugu enjoyed very cordial relationship with the state government and thanked the Governor for creating an enabling environment for her establishment to discharge its duties without hindrance.

According to her, the Governor’s disposition to her station also influenced the cordial relationship between it and the Ministries, Agencies and Departments in the state.

She appealed to the governor to ensure the sustenance of this relationship which she said would enable the corporation go the extra mile to give the state the best of its services.

Mrs. Ekpo assured the governor of the readiness of her successor and the entire staff of the station to continue to provide adequate information, education, entertainment and mobilisation to actualise the mandate of the station of “uplifting the people and uniting the nation.”
