The Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Port Harcourt, Prof Dele Osahogulu, has called on fresh students of the university not to fail to visit the ICT centre in order to upgrade their knownledge.

Osahogulu, gave the charge recently during the one week pre-academic orientation for the 2011/2012 academic session.

He advised the students to avoid all websites and internet postings that could degrade rather than upgrade their overall personality as students.

According to him, the centre will enhance their academic excellence and place them above their equals who lack ICT facilities.

The ICT director, also stated that proper knowledge of the scheme (ICT) can turn the world to a better place, adding that students can be employers of labour if they pay more attention to its positive side.

Mr Deji Fakuade of Cinfores Group, further took the students on e-registration procedure as part of the school’s effort to encourage ICT development.

Earlier in her address, the vice-chancellor of IAUE, Prof Rosemund Dienye Green-Osahogulu, had charged the students to be strong-willed and shun all forms of social vices.

Stressing the school’s zero tolerance for cultism and other vices, she said the authority will not hesitate to show the way out to any students found wanting.
