Deputy Speaker Decries Election Violence
Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Leyii Kwanee, has decried the use of violence during elections, saying that politics should not be a do or die affair.
Kwanee who stated this at Eekch in Babbe district of Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State explained that politics should be a game where the loser should concede defeat in the spirit of sportsmanship.
He condemened violent approach to politics where people use every means at their disposal to intimidate the electorate and party members.
The Deputy Speaker who was represented by Chief Andorois Deekae said that if politics was played according to the rules, Late Kpurugbara would not have died as a result of acid bath during the last governorship election.
