Ambassadors FC Targets Pro-League Football
Coach of Ambassadors FC of Port Harcourt Abiye Tamunoiyalla, has said that his target in the on-going 2011/2012 nation wide League Division 1 is to gain promotion to the pro-league.
Coach Tamunoiyalla, stated this over the weekend in an exclusive interview with Tidesports, during one of the club’s training sessions at the Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Borikiri , Port Harcourt.
According to him, the club has all it takes to gain promotion to the pro-league saying that, his boys were all in high spirit as they are poised to achieve their dream this season.
“This season our goal is to move to the pro-league, in order to gain recognition, showcase our players as to enable the skillful and talented ones join the bigger clubs in the country and beyond, he said.
However, he mentioned the team’s greatest challenges as being financial constraints. He believes that if only a committed sponsor would come up to bankeroll the team and the players, they would go places in no-distant time.
“I have been the only sponsor of the club, financially and otherwise; football is a capital intensive project that needs the support of corporate bodies, multinationals and the government to succeed”, he explained.
Tamunoiyalla, therefore, appealed to the Rivers State government, multinationals and well-meaning individuals in the state to extend a helping hand to the club in order to give the young players in the team hope and motivation.
