The African Representative in the World Assembly of Youths, Comrade Marvin Yobana, has advocated for the establishment of a Social Welfare Scheme for Nigerian children. Comrade Yobana stated this recently when he visited the Port Harcourt Children’s Home, Borokiri and donated some food items worth thousands of Naira as part of activities marking his birthday anniversary.

The youth leader said the social welfare scheme for children would take care of  the less privileged children in society particularly those that found themselves in critical conditions for no fault of theirs.

He explained that the visit was to identify with the less privileged in the society and to give them a sense of belonging because the right to life of these children should concern every member of society.

According to him, the Marvin Yobana Foundation would continue to partner with the Home to improve the wellbeing of the children through regular support and assistance.

The youth leader called on the government, corporate bodies and individuals to be their brother’s keepers by touching the lives of the less privileged members of the society.

Responding, the matron of the Home, Mrs Austin Nwakoh, thanked Comrade Marvin Yobana for identifying with the Home, noting that the gifts were not the most important thing but the heart to share love with the children and urged others to emulate him.
