Three Docked For Illegal Possession Of Dynamite
Three accused persons have been arraigned before a Port Harcourt Magisterate Court presided over by Magistrate E.C. Woke Esq for possession of 22 pieces of dynamite explosive.
The accused persons, Chile Amakiri, 40, Eke Egeoni, 41, Ebiye Joshua, 41 and others at large were arraigned on a one count charge.
The Prosecuting Police Officer, Inspector Godwin Nwinano told the court that the accused persons at Oando Filling Station, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt within the jurisdiction of Port Harcourt Magisterial District did possess 22 pieces of dynamite that are neither licenced nor authorised.
He further told the court that the offence committed by the accused persons were punishable under section 1 (2) (e) of the Explosive Act. Cape 18 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The prosecutor also opposed the bail application sought by the counsel to the accused persons on the ground that the offence they committed were not bailable.
The presiding magistrate later adjourned the case to February 29, 2012 for ruling on the bail application.
