Rivers Indigenes For Maritime Programme In India

Rivers State Government is to sponsor indigenes of the State to study a one-year maritime course in India.          The Commissioner for Employment Generation   and Empowerment, Hon. Ipalibo Harry who disclosed this in Port Harcourt, charged the beneficiaries made up of 29 males and one female to be good ambassadors of Nigeria and compete favourably with their counterparts.

Hon. Harry stated that if the participants put in their best at the preliminary stage, they would proceed to the United Kingdom for more studies in Maritime Engineering.

Responding, one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Obodom Peterside thanked Governor Amaechi led administration for the opportunity given them to study abroad and promised to make Nigeria and the State proud.

In a related development, the Commissioner said the State Government would flag off an on-line unemployment registration as a means of tackling unemployment in the State.

He enjoined unemployed persons who are of the State origin to log on the website ww.riversjobs.ng and register providing their  curriculum vitae (CV), and their discipline and contact addresses for easy access.

When contacte the consultant handling the on line registration exercise, Mr. Fubara Blessing said, that the registration is strictly for State indigenes and enjoined them to make good use of the opportunity.
