Rivers Angels Target Double Titles In New Season
The 2011 Women FA Cup Champions, Rivers Angels are targeting the league and FA titles in the coming season.
The Angels, who won the FA Cup last year and emerged runner-up in the league super 4 play-off are preparing seriously for the league which is scheduled to kick-off on the third of next month.
Already, the team has beefed up its squad with the addition of five new players to further fortify itself for the task ahead.
According to the team manager of the club, Matilda Opuene, who disclosed this in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt earlier in the week, the team is working very hard to ensure that they achieve their goal this season.
We are doing all round preparation interms to plug all loopholes, especially, through friendlies, which I think would help to keep the players physically fit and as well put them in good stead in readiness for the league, she said.
It would be recalled that the Rivers Angels commenced training on the 19th of January this year for the 2011/2012 league season.
