Rivers Angels Set For New Heights In 2012

Captain of the Rivers Angels Football Club of Port Harcourt, Lucky Atu, has declared that the club was set for glory in the 2011/2012 football season.

At made this declaration during an interview with Tideports at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.

The Angels’ captain, who is poised to lead the 2011 FA Cup Championships to the double, league title and FA Cup this season, said that the team would leave no stone unturned towards achieving their target.

According to her, all hands are on deck as the club now trains intensively with friendlies with their male counterparts to be in good shape likely to stop them from reaching their destination.

It would be recalled that the club recruited six seasoned players to beef-up the team in order to compete favourably and get the desired result.

Newly recruited players include Ordega Fransisca from Bayelsa Queens, Njoku Ngu, Pelican Stars FC, Calabar, Victoria Adelomo, Pelican Stars, Calabar, Goodness Ihuoma, Rivers State Festival team and presently in the Under 17 camp.

Others are Suliat Yusuf from Lagos State Festival team and Elizabeth Adu, from Bayelsa Queens FC.

Earlier, team manager of the club Matilda Opuene, had disclosed that the team would be hosting Bayelsa United in one of the Week One matches of the 2011/2012 Women League, billed to hold in the first week of next month in Port Harcourt.
