PH Polo Club Gets N25m For New Pavillion
The Port Harcourt Polo Club in Rivers State is set to add a new pavilion to its ground after it received a donation of N25million from Prince Tonye Princewill.
Tidesports learnt that the new pavilion will be in honouring of Princewill’s father, King Theophilus Princewill, the Amanayabo of Kalabari.
Princewill who made the donation during the closing ceremony of the Annual Niger Delta Polo festival last week commended the management of the sports ground for ensuring that the Polo club maintained its purpose for the resident of Port Harcourt and Rivers State at large.
Princewill, a sports enthusiast pledged to work with the leadership of the club to turn the club into a world class polo club and the best in Nigeira that Rivers sons and daughters would be happy to associate with.
He, however, said he was pleased to identify himself with the club, which has been able to live up to expectations by ensuring peace and providing relaxation and recreations to Rivers people.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the management of the Port Harcourt Polo Club, Mr. Ibifori Bobmanuel assured Princewill that the money would be judiciously used for the purpose it was meant. He enjoined others to emulate Princewill and invest in sports projects that would unite the entire state.
Bobmanuel commended Princewill for his kind gesture and promised that by identifying with the Polo club, the sports ground would definitely move to another level.
