Party Exco Reaffirms Support For LG Boss

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Ogb/Egbema/Ndoni Local government Area of Rivers State, has thrown its weight behind the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Raymond Nwokocha.

Speaking during a visit to the council chairman, the 15 members of local government executive and 17 wards chairmen/secretaries of the party speaking at the event, the  chairman of the party, Hon. Okoro Felix Ejechi declared that the party would stand by the council boss throughout the remaining period of his administration.

He described the council boss as a humble man for deciding to partner with the party towards the realisation of set goals for the interests and development of the LGA.

Responding, the chairman, Hon. Raymond Nwokocha stressed the importance of a political party in the polity and described the PDP as the vehicle that launched him into power.

He solicited the co-operation of the party so as to realise his administration’s vision and mission and promised to work in synergy with the party officials whom he described as the drivers of the political vehicle.

“The party first gave me the mandate to occupy this position today and let me put it on record that my election was the most peaceful in the history of ONELGA politics”. He said.

He, however, disclosed that he would soon visit all the wards to meet with the people at the grassroot.

Hon. Nwokocha reiterated his administration’s commitment to deliver the dividends of democracy; saying that he would speedy up efforts in transforming the LGA within the remaining part of his administration.

He said, “while I will continue to build on the gains of my administration in the areas of infrastructural provision and development, I will not undermine human capital development, which is very important for the corperate existence of the government and society:

The ONELGA chief executive who thanked the party leaders for their visit, appealed to all those he might have offended in one way or the other in the course of his duty to forgive him and promised an improved relationship and co-operation in order to achieve set goals.

He also promised  regular consultation with key shakeholders, which according to him, was targeted at improving the lots of the people.
