NIPOST Boss Promises Better Media Relations
The Post Master General (PMG) of the Federation, Mallam Ibrahim Mori Baba, has promised that the Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST) will soon step up media campaigns in newspapers and other mass media so as to create more awareness for the organisation.
Mori, who spoke recently in an interview with journalists in Lagos, admitted that publicity and marketing of NIPOST products and services were scanty.
He maintained that NIPOST was only prepared to tell members of the public of things they can do and not empty media campaigns.
The post master general, narrated how his team had concluded plans to step up campaigns that can boost the image of the organisation and at the same time, bring out the best in them.
He admitted that there were lot of issues to attend to in view of other challenges relateing to the organisation.
The fate of the retirees of the NIPOST, he said lies on the hands of the ministry of finance and the office of the accountant general, adding that NIPOST will only provide information to the concerned bodies.
According to him, his organisation deals mainly on the data of the retired staff while they (retirees) are paid through their individual pension administrators.
The Tide was told that NIPOST was also considering to partner communities and local government chairmen towards the establishment of an office in each local government.
He pointed out the body (NIPOST), is planning seriously to achieve the feat in the next one year if the local government councils and others agree to cooperate.
