NEMA Approves Relief Materials For 3 Ogoni Communities
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has finally approved relief materials for the three communities in Khana Local Government Area devastated by thunderstorm.
The Director-General,NEMA,Mohammed Sani Sidi disclosed this in his Office in Abuja when the Deputy Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Leyii Kwanee paid him a courtesy visit.
The relief which comprise roofing sheets, zinc nails,3’nails, bags of rice and garri, gallons of vegetable oil and palm oil, packets of Omo detergent, cartons of bar soap and pieces of wrappers and bath towels, is to assist the communities to rebuild their houses and economic activities affected by the storm.
Earlier, the Deputy Speaker told the Director -General that he was in his office to find out the extent the relief materials for the communities had been handled by the office.
He said he was happy that NEMA had finally approved the relief materials for the communities, adding that he was looking forward to the implementation and distribution of the materials.
He said that as a legislator representing the constituency of the three communities, it wwas a great relief that succour would soon come to the affected communities.
He commended the leadership of NEMA for treating the matter with the seriousness it deserved.
It would be recalled that a devastating thunder and hail storm struck Nyogor, Nyobe and Luere Communities of Khana Local Government Area, recently.
