Ikuru Tasks Andonis On PDP Congress
The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru has advised members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members seeking for the positions in the forthcoming congress in the State not to see the contest as do-or-die affairs.
Engr. Ikuru gave the advice recently at a Stakeholders meeting of the party held in Port Harcourt.
He said he was very optimistic that the party would give all contestants a level playing ground to test their popularity in the forthcoming congress, particularly those that fulfilled the party conditions given in the forms issued recently to those who want to contest.
The Deputy Governor assured the party members in the area that the party in the state, and local government areas, including Andoni local government would follow the congress process to allow the party to select credible people that would take the party to greater heights.
Engr. Ikuru used the opportunity to warned the party members against any act capable of causing division in the party in the area and warned against being used by the members of opposition to create acrimony and division in the party.
“Andoni politicians are one and united, we don’t have any division in the party, we should not allow opposition to use rumours to divide the party’s unity in our area”, he advised.
However, the chairman of the of party in the area, Hon. Ere Victor assured those who want to contest any position of a level playing field, adding that all contestants would be allowed to test their popularity in the forthcoming congress.
Hon. Victor used the opportunity to inform the party in the area of the postponement of the congress, following the order from the Party’s at national secretariat.
The Andoni PDP Chairmen told party members in the area that the Congress was shifted to March, 2012.
