Group Condemns Killings In The North
A group, the Niger Delta Coalition Against Violence (NDCAV), has condemned the recent killings of people in some parts of the North, saying it was unfortunate, unacceptable and barbaric.
The president of the group, Comrade Christian Lekia said this in Port Harcourt Monday while answering newsmen from pressmen.
Lekia said no civilized society embraces symbols of violence and terror any more, but peace which is a window to development.
He frowned at some highly placed Nigerians who allegedly support the activities of the suicide bombers in the North, hinting that Nigerians must brace up and fight terrorism together.
The NDCAV boss, also described the Boko Haram sect as enemies of the country who do not think well for the Jonathan administration.
He also kicked against some southerners and easterners who are fleeing the north, saying that citizens of the country ought to do business and live in any part of the country of their choice.
Whether the Boko Haram sects is a Northern agenda or not the sect is only painting such pictures in order to provoke the other parts of the country.
Furthermore, he called on northern leaders to put their acts together and ensure that those behind the wanton killings and bombings in their area are exposed and prosecuted accordingly.
About the Niger Delta, he pointed out that NDCAV agenda is to maintain justice and fairness to enable them overcome the age long neglect of the region by Federal Government and multinational companies operating therein.
He also advocated for a well secured environment, and Sovereign National Conference as as a solution to insecurity.
