Dep Speaker Assures Better Deal For Constituents

The Deputy speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Leyii Kwanee has reiterated his commitments towards providing the best for his constituency.

Kwanee who represents Khana constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly stated this while signing a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Neimerth International Pharmaceutical company for the treatment of sickle cell anaemia in his  office on Tuesday said democracy should be seen as a process of developing the communities.

According to him, it is not sitting in the chambers and make laws, adding that without effections on the citizens, it has no values.

The Deputy Speaker noted that the present lawmakers in the state assembly are taking steps in ensuring that the wide gap between the electorates and elected officers are narrow to allow the people feel the impart of democracy in their various constituency.

The lawmaker however, said his aims of the MOu withs the pharmaceutical company was to provide relief and succour to children in Ogoni and beyond who suffer from sickle cell ailment.

It would be recalled that last year, the deputy speak with an international organization provide 1,000 people in his constituency  free medical  health care services.
