Conductor Knows Fate ’Morrow
A 26-year-old conductor, Bright Power, who pleaded guilty to stealing rim covers of different cars worth N200,000, will know his fate today.
Chief Magistrate Oluyemisi Adelaja of the Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, last Thursday ordered the suspect remanded at the Kirikiri Prisons till the date for facts and sentence.
The police had arraigned the conductor on a two-count charge of unlawful entering and stealing, to which he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp. Clara Olagbayi, told the court that Power committed the offence on January 30, at about 6 a.m. at CBN Estate 1, Satellite Town, Apapa, Lagos.
She said that the accused stole 14 rim covers of various cars belonging to Mr Onwuzulike Collins and three others.
Olagbayi also told the court that the accused, on the same date, time and place unlawfully entered the estate to perpetrate the crime.
The prosecutor said that the alleged offence contravened Sections 285 (5) (b) and 306 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap. C17 Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State 2003.
