Akwa Utd Coach Happy With Result In PH
Coach of Akwa United FC, Solomon Ogbe, has expressed happiness over the goaless draw result his team achieved at the weekend in Port Harcourt against Sharks FC of Port Harcourt.
The encounter which took place at the Sharks Stadium under close door saw the Akwa United FC side drew against its host.
In an interview with Tideports shortly after the match, Coach Ogbe said he was happy with the outcome of the match. According to him, he was very impressed because ordinarily, he did not expect more than that from his team, a team that was newly promoted to the premier division. “I am happy with the draw, we are the new kids on the block and we are not too ambitious, but if within this period we are able to get anything out of it we are not worried but when we are not expecting anything, there will be no disappointment,” Ogbe said.
However, he said his main objective about this year’s competition was to consolidate and stabilise their position in Nigeria Premier League but if by chance they have anything to go home with that they won’t be disappointed.
He commended the NPL and match officials for putting up good performances and organising matches that are widely viewed and seen as credible. He said that if the tempo is maintained, Nigeria’s league will be adjudged one of the best in the continent.
