RSG Screens 4,000 Unpaid Civil Servants, Today
Respite appears to have come the way of over 4,000 civil servants in Rivers State whose names were omitted in the November and December salary payment as the state government has directed them to come for verification and clearance today, preparatory for their payment.
In a statement, Rivers Head of Service, Mrs Esther Anucha said the affected civil servants should appear for the exercise at the Conference Hall, First Floor, Wing A, Point Block of the Sate Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt.
While regretting the pains the affected workers might have gone through, Mrs Anucha noted that the verification exercise would enable the state government facilitate the process of effecting payment of genuine outstanding salaries to all affected staff.
The Rivers HOS also advised all those who have been verified and cleared as well as retirees of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and the Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, to exercise patience as efforts were being made to pay them their outstanding salaries and pensions.
