Rivers Angels FC Postpones Resumption
Following the current national strike in the country over the removal of petrol subsidy, the Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt has postponed its resumption date for the 2012 league season.
This was made known to Tidesports by coach of the club, Whyte Ogbodah in a telephone chat in Port Harcourt on Monday. He said that the January nineth date earlier marked for resumption for the new season had been postponed due to the on-going industrial action across the Federation.
He however, noted that the team is presently in camp preparing for the resumption of the new season.
“The team is already waiting for the strike to be called off in order to commence full preparations for the 2012 season.”
Meanwhile, the coach has promised to ensure that the team’s double targets of winning the league title and FA Cup this season are achieved.
As at press time a new date for resumption was yet to be fixed.
It would be recalled that the Angels won the FA Cup and finished second in the 2010/2011 women league season.
