Rebisi Youths Appeal For Govt Support
A passionate appeal has gone to Rivers State governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi to consider the plight of the youths in Rebisi who are yearning for a mini football stadium to be for them as it was done at No6 field, Borikiri and Igboukwu field, D-Line, Port Harcourt.
Making the appeal while speaking with sports writers in Port Harcourt recently, Hon. Chile Izim, noted that the call has become necessary in view of the growing interest of youths in sports participation.
Izim maintained that the building of a mini stadium at St. John campus field, Port Harcourt which had been in use along with traditional football match venues for communities in Rebisi Kingdom, would no doubt help not only foster unity but also discover budding talents from Rebisi who could dom the colours of Rivers State in high competitives matches.
“If is not in doubt that St John campus field has been breeding ground for talent discovery as many players have succeeded in rising to stardom through the Rebisi cup competition” Hon. Izim said.
He further commended Governor Amaechi for his commitment towards sports development in the state.
For me, Governor Amaechi deserves to be given a thumb up for the world class sporting facilities he has built at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka sports complex and it hs enough to convince any one that the passion he has for sports development in the state is second to raw.
The however urged the youths to always think positively and ensure that they channel their energies and time to active participation in Sports.
