Perm Sec Tasks Christians On Peace

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communication, Ms Kadilo Brown, has urged Christians to unite and pray for the peace and stability of the country. Miss Brown who said on Wednesday during a prayer meeting of the Rivers State Civil Servants Christian Fellowship in Port Harcourt said that the nation at this critical phase of her history needed prayer from Christians irrespective of denominations.

The permanent secretary commended the organisers of the meeting for their consistency in praying for the state and nation and stressed the need for all civil servants in the state to join the fellowship.

She also used the occasion to call on the media to put national interest above other interests in the reportage of the on-going nationwide strike against the removal of petroleum subsidy, stressing that rather than misinform the public, the media should join in the crusade to sensitise Nigerians on the need to support the government.

Also speaking, the coordinator of the fellowship, Evangelist (Mrs) Margaret Peterside said that the prayer was meant to seek for divine intervention in the affairs of the nation.

Evangelist Peterside said that the time had come for Nigerians to support the government to improve the economy of the country.

In her speech, a Nigerian Nurse who is based in Canada, Mrs Grace George said that Nigeria was on the path to positive transformation and stressed the need for seminars and workshops to enlighten Nigerians on the need to support government’s policy on the subsidy removal.
