The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), has said that it will begin an open training camp this weekend in Lagos to prepare players ahead of 2012 competitions with its newly acquired Robo Pro-plus equipment.

The equipment is to enable the players to hone their skills in serving and receiving fast balls. NTTF National coach Nasiru Bello told newsmen in Lagos that the camp earlier scheduled for December 2011 was postponement to the Christmas and the New Year holidays.

We have concluded arrangement to start the programme this week and the postponement would have enabled the players and states to prepare adequately for the camp,” he added.

According to him, states are to be responsible for their players welfare, while individuals participating on their own are to bear the cost of their needs for the period of the programme.

He said that that power supply to the Knock-Up hall which would be used for the training had been restored.

Segun Oguntade, the Secretary of NTTF, urged young players to use the opportunity of the Robo pro-lus equipment to be committed to developing their talents.
