Exchange Volume Drops By 75%
The volume of traded equities at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) shedded 75.8 percent or 484,980,704 shares at the end of transaction yesterday, as investors traded a total of 154,643,193 shares as against 639,623,897 shares traded on Wednesday.
Also, the value of shares lost 44.8 percent or N860.1 million from N1.9 billion traded by investors on Wednesday, to end lower at N1.1 billion.
All share Index closed at 20.657 points, as market capitalization closed at N6.5 trillion.
Investors yesterday traded a total of 154,643,233 shares, valued at N1.1 billion which exchanged hands in 2,594 deals.
The gainers chart was led by Newgold with N50 again per share, Dangote cement and Dangote flow followed after making 52 and 27 kobo gains per share, respectively.
On the other hand, Ashaka cement lost 58 kobo per share to lead losers chart.
Vitaform and Access Bank all lost 26 kobo per share to follow Ashaka Cement Ltd.
Meanwhile, transaction in Port Harcourt branch of Nigerian Stock Exchange was affected by the Rivers East senatorial District re-run election as there was restriction of movements throughout the district.
