Don Urges Women To Back Jonathan
Following the agitations and controversies generated by the removal of fuel subsidy by President Goodluck Jonathan on the 1st of January this year, the women of the state and the nation in general have been called upon, to give the president a chance by being patient, and believing that he meant well for the country.
Dr. Julia Finomo-Awajiusuk, a University lecturer and an Environmentalist, made this call, in her message to Rivers women in particular and Nigerian women in general on the state of the nation recently.
Dr. Julia whose only worry is the proper utilisation of the proceeds from the removal of the subsidy, had also expected the federal government to have repaired the already existing refineries first before the public declaration of the subsidy removal so as to cushion the effect on the masses.
Commenting on the menace of Boko Haram in the country, the female activist says it is time for women to rise up and pray for God’s intervention. She challenges women to form themselves into groups and pray fervently for the leadership of the nation.
In her words, “we can no longer pretend that all is well. Women should seek solution to the problems of this nation at the mercy seat of God”.
The environmentalist believes that only God could profer a solution to the problem of the nation hence the need to fervently seek his face.
