Abe Canvasses Support For Amaechi
The Senator representing Rivers South-East in the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Abe, has sued for sustained support for the Amaechi administration just as he assured the people of his senatorial district that their elected representatives would not disappoint them.
Abe stated this recently when he visited the PDP local government and wards executives in Khana and Andoni Local Government Areas of Rivers State.
The lawmaker disclosed that he took the decision to visit those who facilitated his election into the Senate and attributed the current peace in the state to the exemplary leadership style of Governor Chibuike Amaechi.
“We feel it is important that the people should see us and hear from us physically in line with the philosophy of our leader, who has instituted peace and security through good governance in not only my Senatorial District but across the State”, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream) explained.
Senator Abe thanked PDP chiefs in Khana and Andoni local government areas for their unflinching support, assuring that the elected representatives would prioritize the evolvement of plans that will complement Governor Amaechi’s efforts in the areas of education, infrastructural development and other laudable projects for the betterment of the people.
According to him, “you can see change, you can see hard work and effective grassroots government, the credit must go to Governor Amaechi; you can now see that the people have hope and confidence in the government and everybody is keying into what is happening. We must also give credit to the local governments that have utilized resources at their disposal for the benefits of the people.
He assured that 2012 will witness wider consultation with his constituents and support especially to issues that would move PDP and the area forward.
In their separate contributions, the Deputy Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly,Hon Leyii Kwanee, chairmen, Khana Council, Gregory Nwiedam and Andoni, Orom Nte as well as the party chairmen described the move as the first in the history of the district, adding that it was an indication of good things to come.
They congratulated Senator Magnus Abe for the gesture especially at this season, stating that his conduct, character and exemplary lifestyle were worthy of emulation and assured him of continuous support.
The senator had paid similar visits to Eleme, Oyigbo and Gokana local government areas where he also hosted the party executives.
