UNIPORT Loses Two Profs

The Rivers State Health Commissioner, Dr Sampson Parker has confirmed the death of a one-time Chief Medical Director of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), Prof Abiye Obuoforibo. Prof Obuoforibo until his death was a member of the Department of Physiology of the University of Port Harcourt.

Also announced is the death of Prof Nkparown Ejitiwu of the Department of History, both of whom passed on last week.

A statement issued by the institution’s public Relations Officer (PRO), Dr William Wodi indicated that both dons who retired about five years ago, died of natural causes.

The statement also said that the two departed dons were members of Rivers State Advisory Council.
