NPL Board Reaffirms Jan 7 Resumption Date

The board of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL), has reaffirmed the January 7th as the resumption date for the 2011/2012 soccer season.

The decision was taken over the weekend at the 6th Annual General Congress (AGM) of the NPL held in Bayelsa State.

According to a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting which was made available to Tidesports said that other decision include rebranding of the NPL league that is worth showcasing worldwide with its operations and results.

The communiqué further stated that the board also approved amendments of the NPL  rules and regulations so as to made the league effective and efficient, congress while re-affirming the ratification of total promotions limited sponsorship of the NPL for the next four years.

The body used the opportunity to thank the government and the people of Bayelsa State for their hospitality during the 6th AGM.

The board also announced an indefinite suspension for it’s member, Hon. Akin Akinbobola for provocation and inciting statements against the body.
