Negotiating Council Chairman Seeks Early Salary Payment

The state chairman of Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, Comrade Chukwu Emecheta has appealed for early payment of monthly salary to workers in the state.

Comrade Chukwu stated this while speaking to The Tide against the background of the delay in salary payment.

He said the administration of Governor Rotimi Amaechi as a prudent and transparent administration must ensure accountability in the salary payment process.

The Joint Council chairman advised workers to remain calm and supportive to the administration of Governor Amaechi, noting that everything is being done to address the issue of salary delay.

Comrade Chukwu added that the salary payment delay was occasioned by the need of the state government to ascertain its workforce strength and the on going verification exercise.

The enjoined civil servants to co-operate with the verification team to fast-track the team’s work and early completion of their assignment.
