Labour Condemns Christmas Day Bombings
As Nigerians were shocked over the bombing on Christmas day at the Catholic Church in Madalla, Niger State, the organised labour leaders in the country have decried such act as barbaric.
Comrade Emecheta Chukwu, Chairman, Joint Negotiating Council in Rivers State said it was unfortunate and sacrilegious for such act to be perpetrated on a day regarded as holy to some Nigerians and the world.
Comrade Chukwu urged the government to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous act, noting that government should put an end to the incessant bombings and killing of innocent persons by facing the security challenges posed by this dastardly act.
Also, Comrade Adesunkanmi, President, Senior Staff Association of Communications, Transport and Corporations condemned the bomb blasts saying it was regrettable and unfortunate.
The Labour leader noted that it was shocking to note that on a day when people were supposed to be happy, a group of people who do not have respect for life turned the people’s happiness to sadness and grief.
Similarly, the state Chairman, Nigeria Civil Service Union, Comrade Lilywest has condemned the bomb attacks on innocent worshippers on Christmas day in Niger State.
He called on government to do something in respect of security challenges in order to check the continued menace of the group responsible for the crime to avoid serious crisis in the country.
The Union’s chairman urged the government to fight the state of insecurity with determination.
