Kogi Guber Polls: Audu Advises Supporters
Candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the just concluded governorship elections, in Kogi State, Alhaji Abubarkar Audu, has pleaded with his supporters to remain calm and law abiding in the face of the alleged rigging of last Saturday’s election held across the State.
In a media statement made available by his media consultant, Mr. Femi Johnson, to Journalists in the state, advised his teaming supporters not to take laws into their hands but remain law abiding as he so much believes in our judicial system to get justice.
This was coming on the heels of a resolve to go to court to contest last Saturday’s result which only saw Prince Audu clinching three local Government Areas, out of twenty one LGAs’ with 159,913 votes being 33.0% of the total votes cast as against the closest rival Capt. Idris IchallaWada of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) who smiled away with a total of 300,372 votes being, 62.0% of votes cast.
According to a result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) state office Lokoja, Kogi State for the Governorship Election, held on December 3rd 2011, Total valid votes was put at, 484,168, Rejected votes = 34,781 Total votes cast = 518,949 and Total registered voters = 1,325,272 19 Guber Contestants participated in the election.
