Fraud: Man, 42, In The Dock
A 42-year-old trader, Lawal Adewale, was on Friday docked at the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court for stealing Bagco sacks, worth N3,367,000, property of Dmy Packaging Company Ltd.
Adewale, who is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and fraud, allegedly committed the crime with an accomplice who is now at large.
The prosecutor, Mrs Kemi Adeniran, told the court that sometime in October 2010 in Ikeja, the accused and his unnamed accomplice obtained Bagco sacks from Dmy Company, promising to pay the money after selling the bags.
The offences, according to Adeniran, contravened Sections 516, 419 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs Yetunde Aje-Afunwa, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till December 21 for mention.
