Expert Accuses NFF Of Lack Of Focus
Lack of focus and poor administration of football by Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has been identified as the problem militating against the growth of the game in the country.
Chairman, Delta State Sports Commissioner, Amaju Pinnick who made the observation in an interview with The Tidesports in Asaba yesterday tasked NFF to organise the 2012 league calendar to suit the clubs.
He urged the football organising body to always consider factors like circumstance of the clubs and other leagues across the world especially in England and Spain in formulating policies and drawing up its calendar.
The Delta State sports boss also said that poor remuneration for players in the nation’s league, frequent and premature export of players were among factors affecting the development of football in the country.
“The leadership of the NFF must show that they understand the game and are abreast with global trends, otherwise the people there now should give way for those who know what should be done and are prepared to do it.
It is a shame that Nigeria which was a leader in African sports and enjoyed world reckoning has taken back stage due to ineptitude of our administrators,” Pinic lamented.
He explained that the development portends danger to football even worse for other sports in the country.
