Estate Agent Charged With Stealing

A 62-year-old estate, agent Oyesanmi Bolu, was on Friday arraigned for fraudulently collecting N466,200 from a client.

Bolu is facing a two-count charge of stealing and fraud at the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court presided over by Mrs Yetunde Aje-Afunwa.

The prosecutor, Mrs Kemi Adeniran, told the court that the accused fraudulently collected the money from one Mr Nwabani Chukwudi under the pretext of helping him to secure an apartment.

Adeniran said that on the same date, time and place, Bolu also stole N150,000 from the same man.

She said that the offences contravened Sections 419 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

The magistrate granted the accused bail in the sum of N300,000, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till December 21 for mention.
