Emir Advises Parents To Support Immunization

Parents have been ordered to ensure compliance to polio and other routine immunisations to eradicate polio virus and other diseases.

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero gave the directive on Monday at the launch of the December Round of Polio Immunisation Plus Days at the State House, Kano.

Bayero also ordered all district and ward heads to create awareness of the programme to enable the people to understand the importance of immunising children against communicable diseases.

The emir also asked religious leaders to embark on an awareness campaign in places of worship so that their followers would participate in the program.

He commended the state government for its initiatives on human development, especially its determination to provide free health care for women and children.
