Council Boss Makes Case For Less Privileged

Political office holders have been called upon to always include the less privileged in the society in their budgets.

The Mayor of the Port Harcourt City Council, Hon Chimbiko Akarolo who stated this on Christmas day when he visited the Port Harcourt Children Home and the Home of Elderly, noted that there was need for government at all levels to include the less privileged in their scheme.

Akarolo said he under took the trip to the less privileged homes to ensure that the less privileged also enjoy the season with others, stating that Christmas period should be used to cultivate virtues and promote national unity and understanding among the people.

The Mayor advised politicians to celebrate the season as a way for sharing and exhibiting love for the less privileged, adding that it was out of love for humanity that God gave his son as ransom for mankind’s sin.

According to him, I have come to felicitate with the less privileged children and the elderly in the state, so that they too would feel the same like others”.

“It is important to show love and kindness to the less privileged and include them in scheme to make them feel loved like other children and people”, he said.

Akarolo commended the coordinators of the two homes for taking care of the children and elderly, assured that the council would be coming around to felicitate with them.

The Mayor on behalf of the Port Harcourt City Council donated some food items; rice and cash to help the inmates.
