The chairman of Dolphins FC Supporters Club, Otis Asonye, has appealed to the Rivers State governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi to make out time from his tight schedule to watch some matches of Dolphins during league games.

Asonye who made the appeal in an exclusive interview with Tidesports yesterday, in Port Harcourt said it would boost the morale of the players and officials of the team and subsequently enable the team to win matches for the state.

He also solicited the support of corporate organizations in the state to enable the supporters club travel with the team to cheer the players to victory.

“I am appealing to our governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to come to the field and watch his boys, Dolphins especially when he has chance, because this will give the players courage and boost their morale”, Asonye said.

According to him, motivation is a variable that could lead to the victory of a team during match encounter.

“When I mean motivation, it must not necessarily be money, there are other packages that can spur the players to action and make them to show more commitment and win matches”, he stated.

He noted that the supporters club was determined to ensure that Dolphins FC defend the League title and win the CAF Champions league.

Asonye used the opportunity to urge members of the supporters club to take the organization seriously and show commitment especially now that all eyes were on the team next season.
