Woman, 38, Arraigned For Biting Off Neighbour’s Nose
A 38-year-old woman, Monica Edosa, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Ikpoba-Okha Area Customary Court sitting at Idogbo in Edo for allegedly biting off her neighbour’s nose.
The accused, who pleaded not guilty, was arraigned on a two-count charge of assault and causing grievous bodily harm.
The prosecutor, Benson Agu, said the accused on October 16 at Osaiwede Street, Upper Sakponba Road, Benin, had bitten off part of one Joy Okunrobo’s nose.
He, however, applied for an adjournment to enable both parties resolve the case out of court.
The prosecution told the court that the father of the victim, Roland Osakue, and the husband of the accused, Okunrobo Edosa, had indicated interest in out-of-court settlement.
The judge, Esther Eweka, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case to November 15.
