NACC Wants More Rivers People In Business
President of the Rivrs State Chapter of the Nigeria-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC), Mr Nwabuoku Ifeanyi Peter, has called on Rivers people to avail themselves of the opportunity of excelling in business by enrolling with the chambers.
Mr Peter, who spoke with The Tide in an exclusive interview, noted that Rives people nay Niger Deltans need to own businesses both individually and as a group to be able to operate successfully as businessmen.
Noting the importance of business in any economy, and the states tic nature of Rivers State and the Niger Delta in Nigeria’s economic existence, he urged River people to register with the chambers in order to benefit from both Nigerian and American investors.
“I would advice Rivers people to key in, register with the chambers. They can either belong to the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce (PHCCMA) or the NACC because their businesses will not grow as much as it should outside the chambers. They will only be going round in circles.
“But when you belong to a chambers, you get the opportunity of being introduced to many people and companies, both local and foreign”, he said.
The NACC boss stated that his target for Niger Delta businessmen and women is to make them see the need to look beyond their frontiers in business, and as a group rather than as individuals, noting that much are accruable from it.
According to him, “I want to see Niger Deltans look beyond their frontiers in business in the next few years. I want to see a situation where the NACC, our businessmen and women own businesses together rather than doing it individually.
“This is because when we come together, business grow better, and we even use that opportunity to get loans from banks. I am looking at situations in which we grow in business. When you grow in business, you employ people, at the end it has a multiplier effect in the economy”.
