Kilsi FC Plans Football Academy In Gokana
Management of Kilsi United FC of Gokana, Rivers State, a National Division III side in Nigeria says arrangements have been concluded to establish a football academy for the club in Gokana town.
The chairman of the club Mr Lessi Gborogbosi disclosed this during an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt over the weekend.
According to him, all necessary plans have been put in place to set up an academy for the club (Kilsi Unitd).
“The management has concluded plans to establish a football academy and all necessary facilities have been fixed. What is left now is the inspection of the facilities on ground”, he maintained.
Gborogbosi explained that the management of the club is now working towards fixing a suitable date for the representative of the football governing body in the country and the state FA to come and inspect facilities on ground in order to get approval from the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for the take off of the academy.
Gborogbosi was optimistic that the academy would help talented players in the club to improve their skill and excel on their chosen career when eventually established and declared open.
He also said that admission for non-members of the club would be based on screening so as to ascertain the quality of players before joining the academy, adding that the reason is to ensure that the academy brings up quality and well-groomed players who would replace some old players in the state owned teams (Dolphins and Sharks FC).
